Tips and Installation

The Windsor Universal Adapter is designed to adapt the standard Windsor Flower Box Bracket that comes with the planters to fit over a wide variety of railings and fences without having to drill holes for fasteners. Your Windsor Flower Box Planter has been supplied with the correct number of brackets to support its weight. Use the same number of Windsor Universal Adapters as you have brackets.

Novelty Manufacturing recognizes the potential of hundreds of different applications for mounting our beautiful Windsor Flower Box. The Universal Adapter can be configured to suit most of those applications. Just find the right combinations of the included parts to fit your needs.

Each Windsor Universal Adapter can be configured with up to four bracket pieces (three “L” shapes and one flat shape). Six low profile bolt assemblies (1/4-20 x 1/2”) are included for each four-piece adapter.

Shown on the reverse side are examples of how to configure the brackets for different mounting situations - they may be flipped and turned in many different combinations. Please note that not all parts are required for every surface. If the railing is wider than 6-1/4”, the flat extender is required. Low profile bolts with a square section under the head are provided so the only tool needed to install the bracket is a 7/16” or adjustable wrench. Be sure to place the low profile heads on the side of the bracket that will contact your railing. A roll of thin rubber is include for the protection of your railing surface. Use a knife or scissors to cut it to proper length. Place the rubber under the bracket on as many sides as desired and make final tightening adjustments.

While bright white coordinates nicely with a vinyl railing, it may contrast with a wooden deck railing. Therefore, we opted to allow you to paint the adapters to suit your specific needs and artistic sensibilities. Most outdoor spray paints will work with these aluminum and stainless steel adapters. No paint is required for the protection of the adapters; your plants may also hide them from view.
